    Description

Handlers of reactive dogs struggle to find ways to help their dogs feel less worried, overwhelmed or pushed past their thresholds. But progress can be slow, particularly if the dog continues to be triggered despite the handler’s best efforts.

As a behavior consultant, I work with many handlers who are discouraged or frustrated. In many cases, there are holes in the training plan. Inevitably, the training falls apart, the dog is triggered, the handler is embarrassed or upset. Why does this happen so often?

This webinar dives into what you need to know to help reactive dogs through carefully controlled set-ups.

    • Training in the wild?
    • Pause button or uncontrolled variables?
    • Understanding your dog’s triggers (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory, social, chase)
    • The holy trinity of dog training: Distance, intensity & duration
    • Using Line of View and Field of View in the real world

    1. Penny Locke

Suzanne gives smart, sensible & clear insights into setting up opportunities to help our reactive dogs experience triggers at low levels, so handlers can build positive associations and alternative actions in response to the triggers. By controlling the distance, Intensity & duration of a trigger, through set-ups, our dogs can learn how to tolerate/deal with them. in ways other than reacting negatively. Well worth attending this one & others she offers too.

    2. Cheree Roberts

Suzanne is a masterful teacher. When looking to expand my depth of training knowledge and nuance – she is who I turn to first.

    3. Jennifer Kwiatkowski

Determining your dogs trigger tendencies – VAKO. Distance, duration and toast turning brown. Suzanne does an amazing job at breaking down scenarios and making a plan for them. She is also humble enough to say when she just doesn’t have an answer for something which is what I appreciate the most. Her heart and her passion are with the animals which makes the deliver of her material so compelling. I once worked for a charter school and their unwritten motto was ” if it’s not good for kids, it won’t happen here”. Suzanne takes the same stance and I love it.

    4. Bruce McWatters

As a professional Dog Trainer I am always looking to further my education and improve my techniques . A large part of my business is working with reactive dogs. I purchased the webinar by Suzanne and found it one of the best resources on dealing with reactive dogs, especially on the way to do set ups to treat reactive dogs . I have not read any publication that measures up to this webinar. Well worth the cost. Bruce MacWatters,, Ballston Spa, NY
